hello jan, i dont know if you are aware of this thing or you are among those who always put verses of quraan out of context to make others believe that islam is violent. but thanx for at least putting on the chapter and verse numbers, so people wo are really intrested they can search its validity.

if we go with your way of presenting quran, it is said in quraan "Muhammad is nothing" lol. please next time when you are quoting quran to any muslims refer to this, that it is said in quran but i'm sure most already now the whole ayyah "Muhammad is nothing but apostle of Allah"
any way refering to the ayyah to put here to show islam is violent, here are the translations of ayyah 2:189-2:193 and tell me how does it sound to you? are these ayyah suppose to mean oppress some one or are they mean do not be opperessed and especially ayyah you refferd is in the case when some one oppresses you fight them back and we call it jihad, i dont know what you call jihad.. here is the translation

They question you about the phases of the moon. Say: 'They are seasons fixed for mankind and for the pilgrimage.' Righteousness does not consist in entering your dwellings from the back. The righteous man is he that fears god. Enter your dwellings by their doors and fear God, so that you may prosper. Fight for the sake of God those that fight against you, but do not attack them first. God does not love aggressors. Slay them wherever you find them. Drive them out of the places from which they drove you. Idolatry is more grievous than bloodshed. But do not fight them within the precincts of the Holy Mosque unless they attack you there; if they attack you put them to the sword. Thus shall the unbelievers be rewarded: but if they mend their ways, know that God is forgiving and merciful. Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God's religion reigns supreme. But if they desist, fight none except the evil-doers. (189-193)

now you may have noticed one ayyah? if you did not let me single out it for you
"Fight for the sake of God those that fight against you, but do not attack them first"

now i would say please dont try to be scholar of islam and trying to spread hate, if you are really interested please research the quran, you may find guidance.
