Those so called christians that you say are committing adultery etc.. are Not true Christians. A true christian follows the 10 commandments and as the bible says a true christian is known by the fruit (good works) that he/she bears such as love, joy peace, longsuffering, gentlenes, goodness, faith, meekness, self control (Galatians 5:22-23)

As for the Catholic Church persecuting millions of people in the past. Yes it is true. The popes in the past were in it for the money and the power. These popes that persecuted jews, christians, and muslims in the past were evil and did not allow anyone to own a bible under death penalty. They in no way represent Jesus. But on the other hand islam was founded by the sword, for Muhammad was a man of violence and The religion has never stopped being violent to the present day. At least the Catholic church has reformed and repented of its bloodshed. But radical islam actually is shedding blood all over the globe in the past and present.
