No one in 1930's Germany believed that their laws, their beliefs, their lives would be so utterly changed, and that they themselves would do the changing, morphing over time, giving up a little here and a little there, compromising in the hope that they themselves would be saved to continue as before. Because they were decent, law abiding, religious people who meant no one any harm.

In Europe, in Britain, in the United States, in Austrailia, and in Canada there are decent, law abiding, religious people who mean no harm in their encouragement of the expression of Islam. They've been told Islam is a religion and as of yet have not personally paid the price of their convictions based on ignorance. Ignorance is bliss and a great many people will sacrifice the truth if it will allow them to maintain that blissful ignorance. Post world war 2 Germans said, " We never knew". And those people, soldiers who fought for democracy in the war of the Facsist could not believe. It just didn't seem reasonable.

In this, the instituting of Islamic sharia law into democracy is no different. Those who don't think they will be affected, and there are a great many, will comprimise. And as the percentage of Islamist increases with in that society, so will the number of laws change to accomodate Islamic beliefs and sharia law. And the majority of people will allow it to progress a little here and a little there......

And they too will say, "We never knew". And the people, the soldiers who take up the battle for democracy will not believe such a thing could go unnoticed.

Islam is fascism. Fascism stands for a centralized, autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition. Islam is the religious and social expression of facsism and sharia enforces it in it's laws.

Islamist have no respect for democracy. Democratic priciples and values are seen as a weakness to exploit and anyone who hasn't sumitted to Islam is only fit for servitude. Liberty, and especially the right to determine ones course of action and way of life is not a construct of Islamic law.

So, those of us that know the reality must wait. Must allow the majority rule to maintain their hopeless blissful sleep. And then when the light dawns for the majority begin again the battle for democracy. It's an age old battle. The nature of peace is to compromise and the nature of the dictator is to get those of democratic values to compromise. Religion is just one more tool for the dictator to exploit.
