Dear Vijay,

Greetings

Many thanks for your reply. I am taking the liberty of correcting a statement you made. There is a difference between a cultural icon and a Prophet of God even in a democracy. About the sensitivity at the slightest criticism, you have a right to criticise any practice we indulge in but one does not accept quietly anything untowards when it come to one's beliefs because when you threaten beliefs, you criticise the core of someone's existence. That is not a nice thing to do.Islam is more than just a religion, its a complete way of life but a Worldview also and theis is unique to Islam..I fail to understand the need to criticise or discuss the lives of Prophets and their teachings.Do we become good by denigrating another belief or do we have a good belief without the necessity to compare beliefs or Prophets? Think about it.

Many thanks for your kind words. There is great wisdom in the Upanishads. Reading them is an education in itself and very illuminating.

Peace

Fazal Habib Curmally
