for the pope to make such comments is unacceptable. especially at a time of social and political upheaval you would think that such a prominent figure, religious figure at that, would make some attempt to offer peace and consolidation to the world..instead he has to aggravate the situation by making such controverstial comments about an already sensitive topic....a proper and sincere appology is definitely in order.


Worse is I think he was aware of how his statements at that "symposium" would be received. He just could not control himself. He had to risk lives to express his feelings, to get some of his scorn off his chest and feel better. He is responsible for that nun's death. Disengagement would have been best.
