Angelina said that nothing has changed since the Middle Ages. Precisely.

That may be why the Pope chose this quotation, instead of a more modern one--to give the world some historical perspective. There is also reference in Don Quizote to the trouble the Muslims were causing the Christians.

You might recall Muslim defensive postures by bringing up the Crusades. What they always omit is that Christians on Crusade were taking back lands the Muslim armies previously took from them!
