Reaction to Pope disproves Bush's statement that we are not at war with Islam

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam [in Regensburg]

Submitted by rick (United States), Sep 19, 2006 at 15:32

This event and its aftermath and the Danish Carton controversy prove that Muslims from the street to the highest positions, as well as immans and mullahs, have the same reaction to any criticism of Islam. We are at war with Islam and the sooner one is aware of that the easier it will be to defeat terrorism.

From the persecution of the Copts in Egypt to the recent targeting of Christians in Iraq as kidnap victims f or money, Christians have had a rough time of it in the Middle East. The difference between the Sunday People and the Saturday People is that Jews have an effective army to protect them. Christians don't.

In Iraq, in Basra we can see the future now. Crowds burned effigies of the Pope. They also burned flags including the American one. That is how Arabs express gratitude. Saddam is still on trial and they burn American flags in Iraq. Imagine, after Saddam is gone.
