Islam has no merit to stand on its own. Ergo it needs the sword to back it up.

The reason Islam is so violent is because its ideology is not the real truth. If it was, it would be self evident and in no need of the use of force. Here is one example: Muslims, especially Arabs, insist on honor and always complain on being humiliated by the West. Yet it is self evident (and taught by other religions) that "He who chases Honor, Honor eludes him, but he who is humble, Honor pursues him". Muslims don't live by this simple truth and the whole world is made to suffer.

Muslim leaders fear that if Islam allowed debate, its ideas would collapse. Therefore, internal (and external) questioning is strongly discouraged.
