I agree with Scott (Sept 16). Its disgusting to see how American folks have so much fear for others of a different religion. Its really insecure. There are thousands of Muslims in America and just think how isolated they must feel if you deny them their nationality! I'm a Christian in the UK, and am appauled how so called Christians treat Muslims. No wonder, more and more Christians are converting into Islam as our Christian brothers and sisters are not united.

I do feel Obama has no need to lie about his religion, we should accept them for their face value and what they do to the nation and society. In a society that is disintergrated from moral values, racial, cultural, social, religious hatred, I think Obama would make a good US president and forge closer links with people of all nationalities. If people feel Islam is the biggest threat (as it so comes across from the messages here), then we have to face up to it and deal with it.

If my next door neighbour has prejudice against me for whatever reason, I must invite him to my house so that he knows I can get along with him and that my Christian values are not discriminatory to others religion. Hatred only breeds more hatred. It shouldn't be your religion verses mine. It should be your values vs mine. We value democracy and we should be proud of it, not insecure.
