I am baffled

Reader comment on item: Was Barack Obama a Muslim?

Submitted by Jerry (United States), May 31, 2008 at 10:26

I find myself very saddened that we cannot engage in a debate about issues without someone dealing the race card. It seems to me that if anyone questions Obama, they are called racist, divisive, etc. The buzzword used to be "mean spirited." It seems to me that we are expected to simply accept whatever Obama says as truth.

Sorry, I for one am not easily led and need to take an analytical approach to most things. I guess today this is considered mean spirited or racist. I also cannot understand why Obama's congregation hates people like me so much. I have been in the human services for years and have even risked my life for others regardless of race, religion, sexual preference, or whatever. I am baffled.
