Christians who are worried about Obama's religion should remember that Islam and Christianity have the same roots, the Judaism. They are both called the Abrahamic religions and share some holy books and prophets. Both Christians and Moslems belive in one god and in hell or paradise. The differences are substantial but the common ground is far more essential.

Both religions were established in the infancy of humanity when humans believed in nonsensical ideas and when there was no understanding of fundamental scientific facts such as deathm psychology, astronomy and physics. Still people wanted to interpret daily events and create a a theory guiding them in life. Hence many religions were established that attempted to explain the meaning of life and the surrounding reality.

These explanations were very naive and not based on any solid facts. If you read the Old testament or Quran you quickly realize that these holy books were written by very primitive people who had no undestanding of science, life or morality. Thre is nothing in them that would suggest that the books were written with the help of god. Nothing in them suggests that the writer new more that any living person at that historical period of time.

we can say for sure that all holy books are products of ordinary mortals and are based on unreliable information . The existence of Jesus is uncertain. The evidence of Muhammad existence is more substantial but his deeds and views can be hardly regarded as ideal and worthy of divinity.

The bottom line is that Christians and Jews should focus on Obama's political and leadership fitness not his religion. Because Judaism, Christianity and Islam are made of the same cloth and are useless as a guidance for President of the United States.
