Barack Obama's mother MUST HAVE converted to islam if only temporarily.

Reader comment on item: Was Barack Obama a Muslim?

Submitted by Leon Fiss (Switzerland), Jan 7, 2008 at 10:58

From my personal knowledge of muslim countries, I cannot imagine that his mother's marriage to the Indonesian guy would have been recognized officially in Indonesia without the mother's conversion to islam.

Moreover, Barack would not have been welcomed to muslim tuition nor to the mosque (where he freely mingled with other kids and this would have been deemed to be a 'contamination' of islam by an infidel) had his mother not converted to islam.

Therefore, it is easy to conclude that he was indeed born a muslim, grew up as a muslim at least during the early formative years, and that BOTH his parents, Kenyan father and Kansas mother who converted, were muslims in addition to his indonesian stepfather.

I fully accept that Barack then converted to christianity much later on and that he is NOW apparently a practising christian.

It seems to me Obama has not been fully vetted so far. Indeed, he MUST know the truth of his early years. He now deflects and shifts the questions to his current status but without fully explaning what happened in-between. He does so deliberately.

If Obama is lying on this, what else is he hiding ?

Our American friends are entitled to know the FULL truth before they make a decision that is all important for the the entire world.
