in response to reader comment: Naive

Interesting that the Archbishop should suggest that English law may have to encorporate Sharia...
Interesting also CNN reports Iraqi women felt more secure/protected under the secular Sadam government than they do today.

I think going into Iraq has created more of a quagmire than there was before. Hans Blix stepped down/resigned for a reason. You think I am naive...
Many times in history countries have meddled in the affairs of other countries thinking that it was going to serve their interests to do so and found out later that in fact they opened Pandora's Box and it came back to haunt them exponentially. I think spending all that money on war is questionable when there are so many Americans who could benefit from it being spent on significant domestic issues.

Exactly why some Muslims react in curious ways to various events escapes me, but no more so than when I look back historically at how the West behaved/reacted to many things over the centuries.

I am presently in Dresden, the Florence of the Elbe, bombed Feb 12 1945 by Allied Forces. More recently, the son of one of the bombers, an English goldsmith, made the new cross to top the rebuilt Frauenkirche...and the beat goes on...
