The misinformation put forth by "Christianophobes" over the centuries regarding the inquisition and the Crusades is astonishing. Many of the history books regarding the Spanish Inquisition, the reconquista, and the Crusades, were written by atheists/agnostics who injected significant bias into their writings, in my opinion.

Even if taken at face value, these treatises, when compared to the history of violence in Islam since Mohammed, will reveal that the Holy Roman Catholic Church was far less violent than Mohammed, Saladin, and other Islamic leaders/warriors. Remember that Christ had no armies, and his followers suffered persecution (to this day. )

There are some excellent books that will place things into stark relief if you don't believe or care to believe what I am saying. Any book by Robert Spencer will satisfy the urge for information and background on the well-documented inhumanity of Islam. A very readable and relatively unbiased book on the Crusades is in my opinion, required reading before one adopts an open-minded approach to Islam. Thomas Madden's : A Concise History of the Crusades puts the the Spanish reconquista movement into perspective, and shows the essential balance that prevailed between the Crusades and the warring factions of Islam through to the delapidation of the Ottoman Empire.

For every action, there was a not so equal and opposite reaction, and having Muslims rule what was universally considered consecrated land (Spain) was almost as universally considered unacceptable. Please also read "Religion of Peace" and "The Truth About Muhammad", both by Spencer, and if you have any doubts about the veracity of these works, please directly research the Sunnah..a compenium of works consisting of the Quran, the Hadith (traditions of Muhammed) and the Sira (biography of Muhammed).

Once you have read (or skimmed) these writings, you will understand the danger to the free world that even mainline Islam itself really is. Finally, it is sad that so much of the Afro-American community has wrapped itself in a cloak of Islam. Obama's middle name being "concealed" by the liberal media, and that same media's desire to ostracize anyone who questions : "'Why Hussein if he isn't Muslim?" is acting like Obama has something to hide. Having a President who gives only a hint of being Islamic is not the message we need to be giving the Muslim world at this time. That Muslim world will view an Obama presidency as a defeat for the Judeochristian basis of America, and this will excite many to ramp up Jihad even more. This will, in time, hasten the Holy War that we are witnessing today, as a more fulminent process in our lifetimes.
