Reader comment on item: Was Barack Obama a Muslim?

Submitted by Thapelo Mofokeng (South Africa:Richards Bay) (South Africa), Apr 4, 2008 at 11:14

This is one of the most high times an American election is going to be closely watched by the World community. Whether national leaders or ordinary people they are paying attention waiting to see how the selfish American pride is going to discriminate against Obama. Islamic or not one thing that Americans have a chance of doing is make their country a true socially diverse country that does not discriminate against any religion.

For who he (Obama) associates himself with is surely important - honeslty - but one thing that we need not to lose focus on is what your country America needs; a leader that identifies himself with the people and understands what your country needs to renew its pride to the world. I am a Christian a strong believer but I have Islamic friends at varsity and some believe in Shembe does this mean that I cannot be trusted for any public position -NO- that is is the answer.

i have my wishes for American people for the upcoming election. Whether you are black, white, colored or asian you need to understand one thing you are Americans and the right decision does not come from your WHITE HOUSE but from the stroke of a pen in your hand during election. Good luck a good friend for PEOPLE of the WORLD.
