Hilarious! I love you, Hamilton!Reader comment on item: Was Barack Obama a Muslim? Submitted by Gogi (United States), May 15, 2008 at 15:56 Your tone is exactly right, exposing the ridiculous paranoia that is so apparent in these comments. It is ASTONISHING to what lengths people will go to disguise their own bigotry. It would be so refreshing to hear someone just come right out and say, I don't like blacks and don't trust a half-breed, or anyone who has ever even spoken to a Muslim. A little honesty, instead of all these mental backbends, just to avoid the simple truth of your own ignorance and xenophobia. This kind of talk is why the sanity of Obama is attracting whites & blacks, Christians and non-Christians, Democrats, Republicans and Indendents ... so many people are just SICK of this paranoid, delusionary thinking - fed by propaganda - that has us living in fear, and pits us against one another, instead of against our real enemies. The only ones who benefit from that disease are its propagators: the big corporations and their lobbyists. Who is celebrating the war in Iraq? Not the American people. Not the Iraqi people. Halliburton. KBR. ExxonMobil. BP. Blackwater. Follow the money. Follow the facts. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
