I agree with Danish

On rereading the comments, I have to agree with Danish and some other level-headed here. The cultural insights gleaned from growing up in Indonesia can only be a positive for a US leader.

Beyond that positive aspect, I tend to agree with those who think the Obama=Muslim equation is merely an irrelevant distraction.

We have a great open society in the USA and those who have the most exposure to its diversity appreciate it the most. Those who have lived in homogeneous communities are the most fearful. That dichotomy is what will challenge the most, and that dichotomy is evident here. If Obama does get elected, he will need to show to the rest of the world that he is not the President of 50.1% of the US population, but of the entire nation.
