Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam

Submitted by John Giannasca (Australia), Oct 6, 2005 at 01:09

How sick and tired I am at having to offer a lame qualifier every time I want to enter into a conversation which displays my outrage at the terrorist activities of the muslims. There seems to be a need to have to say "but of course I know these are a small minority, and the vast majority are peace loving.....or...of course the christians did terrible things to the muslims a thousand years ago etc etc".
Give me a break!

Well I'm going to stop now. We are so careful at not offending the vast majority that we dont end up saying what needs to be said. The muslims of the world have to wake up to themselves and admit that while the religon of Islam may be fine, and no better or worse than any mainstream religion, the extreme practice of it is a perversion. This perversion is not located in any city state or region, it is spread throughout the world. The fault lies totally on this silent majority of muslims that by their silence give acceptance to the perverted practices of the religion. This majority claim to be against terror activities and they obviously don't like the way they are being treated....well...what are they doing about it ....nothing! They dont protest about the activities. They dont go down to the mosques and confront those that incite terrorist behavior. They do nothing. ...their inactions speak louder than their words.
