Religion is not the problem, people are the problem. If you look at any holy book, I.e. the bible koran and what not, the point is to be a good person and to live a good honest life. Its only when an individual claims to know the true meaning behind it all that problems occur. For instance the crusades were born out of christain ignorance, only the pope and bishops and so on could read the bible and because of their postion people had no choice but to beleive them.

As of now we have these radical muslim factions with leaders saying that Allah and God would want them to blow themeselves up and that they only know the true meaning of it yet these leaders sit at home and send many of young muslims that they brainwashed to do their bidding. And as for the christain saying of "love thy neighbor, love thy enemy" it only seems relative when reading. But in a world where its kill or be killed and your ideology is at threat you must act.

But also this world seems extremly contradictory, a entire civilization built off Capitalism and making lemonade from lemons, at the same time trying to follow a religon that says you should do the opposite. Its all just bs in my opinion, yes religion is neccesary but I just dont beleive that any god would want you to kill a fellow human.
