For anyone who wants to get a different, reformist view of Islam, vist www.submission.org. It presents a vision of Islam totally at odds with what most people on this list (both Muslims and non-Muslims) think they know about Islam.

One real point of irony that I would ask you to take note of if you do visit this site is where it originates. Its home is Capistrano Beach, California, while its religious mentor is from Masjid Tucson in Tucson, Arizona.

As I stated in a prior post (I don't remember which thread), most of the real scholarship about Islam is not occurring outside of the traditional Islamic world. This scholarship lays the groundwork for the coming Islamic Reformation. Islam's return to its roots is happening here in the good old U.S.of A., the land of religious freedom, while people people living on Islam's home turf are mired in superstition and hatred ...
