The Muhammedians had already subjugated all the nations in the region under the 'Sword of Muhammed" Murdering and destroying Christians. The crusades were, in fact , a defensive measure to protect the Christians, and if anything were delayed much too long. The hordes of Muhammed were unrestrained as they murdered and pilliaged all of Christendom. The notion that the crusades were simply for loot is inaccurate, and generally used as propaganda by Muslim sympathizers.
