Let me first kindly and friendly express my greetings, hope you are well.

Your comment struck me while I was surfing through all that had been written. I was so astonished that the question asked diverted totally from the content . I would like to say that under democracy whether under Aristotle 's thoughts , Rousseau's ones, Montisquieu's ideas, or even Jefferson's ones , had never been so practical , but simply idealistic thoughts aiming at establishing certain imaginative utopia that would never exit.
Secondly, I don't think that the problem of democracy is related solely to the problem of Women and Hijab.
Thirdly, I know that you are very democratic and it appears through the lines you have written , but you democracy has not taught you to be tolerant and furthermore the respect of people's creed which is part of the natural rights your ancestors have fought for during the 14 and 15 centuries.
Finally I would tell you something that your assumptions are based on prejudices, in the way that you westerners , you have never blamed or criticized Hindus , Boudhist, Sikhs, or the established sects along the western world , however, the are thousands . You have grown spoon-fed with ready made judgements , and I am sure that you do not make a linguistic distinction and neither a cultural one between devine texts and human achievements.

Our Holy Koran need to be read and understood and a minute uinderstanding for the verses and very wise interpretation.

However, you discounted one element in historical entanglements and clashes , You are blaming us for conquering Europe , you have forgotten that your forefathers did it many times before and after what we did. Hope that you read how much blood and how many souls your ancestors are responsible for?

In case you believe that there is some hope for an open minded discussion with tolerance and rspect , I delightly welcome what you write .
