Toward Israel, Islam has always been 'aggressive'

Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam

Submitted by Vic Rosenthal (United States), Jul 30, 2002 at 13:56

Since the time of the Mufti, Arab Muslims have totally rejected the possibilitiy of a Jewish state in the Mideast and have fought aggressively to destroy it. There's ample evidence that recent negotiations (e.g, Oslo) have been undertaken only as tactical maneuvers toward the ultimate goal of Israel's elimination.

But Bin-Laden style Jihadism is relatively recent. How can you account for this long-standing, implacable, often self-defeating aggression toward Israel other than as an Islam-based rejection of a dhimmi state in Dar al Islam?
