Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam

There is a difference between Islam and some people who call themselves Muslim but who are not really following Islam. People seem to be unable to seperate the 2. We understand that although the KKK kill in the name of their religion, that they currupting the religion. We also know that in Israel there is a genocide killing many Palestinians but we know Judaism is not a religion of hate. The same should apply to Islam. Because as there are people who do not follow Islam and do bad things, there are more who follow it properly.

Suicide is forbidden in Islam as is the killing of women, children, elderly, and anyone innocent. Damaging of property or harming of nature is also forbidden.
Islam the word itself means peace. Muslim the word itself means one who spreads peace.
Quran: Al-Ma'idah:32 states that if someone kills an innocent person it is as if they have killed all of mankind.
This is because we believe God (Allah) has created the universe and every living thing in it. In fact the Blessed Prophet Muhammed was one of the first in history to pass a peace treaty, which was written to enable and protect Muslims, Christians and Jews alike. The Quran calls Christians and Jews 'the People of the Book' and speaks of them with kindness and love and even tells Muslims to respect their beliefs. After all we believe in all the prophets that the Jews and Christians believe in, accept that we believe in Jesus who the Jews do not. The Blessed Muhammed even became concerned when a Jewish women who used to throw her trash on him, one day when she didn't come out to throw her trash on him. He investigated her home and found her too sick to leave her bed. So what did he do? He nursed her back to health, like she was his own mother. Does this really sound to you like a religion of hate??

Anti-American feelings are not just seen in some Muslim groups. Protests in London, Seattle and Genoa prove this. More attrocities have been committed at the hands of America and the West, so why is Islam becomeing the scapegoat. 17,500 Lebanese and Palestinian civilians lost their lives in the Israeli invasion of Lebanon given the green light by then US Secretary Alexander Haig - that's more than 5 times the amont killed in 9/11. Yet no one holds candle lit services for them. 61,443 were killed in the Hiroshima bombing, 20,00 of which are estimated as being children. The Russian invasion of Chechnya cost 70,000 lives, the French killed 1.5 million Algerians before independence was granted, just to name a few. Whats more Christian's killed more people in the 19th Century then Muslims have killed since the recording of the Quran to this day?

Far from being terrorists Muslims are victims of American fundamentalism.
