You are absolutely right!!!

"Wrong/ignorant" interpretation of Quran by the terrorists is the usual line we get from common everyday Muslims when they defend their religion even though the Islamic religious schools never issue a ruling disagreeing with the terrorists!!! In other words they agree with terrorist's interpretation of Quran.
