Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam

Submitted by Amina Aleem (United States), Jun 8, 2007 at 23:47

After 9/11/2001, the Koran has come under the microscope of many non-moslems. I was born in a Moslem family and practiced islam until I was 29, when I gave up islam. I'm fluent in both English and Arabic.

Of late, I have been coming across some portions of the Koran online, that I suspected it had been altered. Lo, and behold when I compared those verses online with my Koran printed in 1980, I noticed the Islamic community have seriously begun omitting some words and inserting others, probably to cover up the hate, militancy and terrorism clearly stated in the all versions of the Koran and hadiths printed before 2001.

Eg. .....(1980) Koran 5:51 - Do not take the Jews and Christians as friends.

now. .....(2002) Koran 5:51 - Do not take certain Jews and Christians as friends.

I've encountered over 20 altered koranic verses online, and I'm compiling them. Contact me if you want to see an exhaustive side-by-side comparison. The Islamic world will go to any extent to make their religion look good.

They already succeeded in removing the satanic verses from the Koran, now they want to give their religion another major cosmetic makeover.

For those of you who don't know much, the satanic verses clearly showed that islam acknowledged 3 other deities in addition to Allah
