I agree. Islam isn't evil in and of itself.

Thank you for the excellent article Mr. Pipes. Anyone who has read history knows that Islam kept the light of learning burning during the twelfth century AD. The Muslims in Spain where especially noted for this. This is what is known as the Dark Ages to Western civilization.

My disgust with what Islam, for the most part, is today does not impede my recognizing historical fact.
Let's not grab one little part of Islam, one representative, one interpretation, and condemn all of Islam because of this.
Much of what is used against Islam comes from people searching for a reason to hate Islam, not necessarily legitimate reasons.

Most of the time people who level accusations against Islam do so without the inconvenience of study of the subject.
Islam isn't evil.
