Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam

Submitted by shawn (United States), Nov 16, 2003 at 18:21

"What other religion advocates chopping off hands and heads"
I am rather certain that Islam does not encourage such activities, but individuals claiming adherence to the religion may. That being the case, as we delve into the depths of history it is more than obvious the attrocities commited in the name of Christianity. For example, the Spanish "developers" of the Americas, including Columbus. Millions of the indigineous population were massacred and at times chopped up and used as dog food. The acts committed by the Spanish were in the name of Christianity. Will you say that the teachings of Christianity encourage genocide? I would hope not. So why then do you look at Islam in such a light? OPEN YOUR EYES!
