Culture greatly influenced by religion...ummm...No. If that was true then all South America wouldn't be celebrating Native American Holidays. Man, people seriously force themselves to hate Islam, it's disgusting. Bad treatment toward woman is common because of culture. Look at Latin America, it is a very chauvinistic society but it it is slowly dissipating because of USA/European influence. There is no passage in the Qur'an that states a woman can be beaten. One passage in fact states that if a woman is beaten she is allowed to divorce.
