that ANYONE who 'submits' to their 'qesmat' their allotted fate in life AND is ahl-e-ketab (people of the book) is considered a muslim by every muslim authority i've ever had contact with. that means, that if you are born a xtian (or a jew) and really take your xtianity (or judaism) to heart and do your best to live it and put it into practice, improve the world by living a xtian (jewish) life, then you too are a muslim.

because 'muslim' means "one who submits".
