Well Steve, if it is true that the intent of the Constitution has been "warped and twisted" into an acceptance of the concept of church and state separation then some of those warped and twisted opinions have come directly from the Supreme Court of the United States, as there have been several decisions rendered by that court supporting the recognition of such a separation based upon their interpretation of both the First and Fourteenth Amendments. But I'm sure the Supreme Court will gladly bow to your superior insight and intellect on the subject.

It is true that most, if not all, of the Founding Fathers---with the exception of Thomas Paine, I believe---publicly, and frequently, made polite and reverent references to the Christian deity, however in their more private reflections and personal letters there were clear indications of agnosticism for men like Thomas Jefferson and several others. I'm not convinced they were all that enamored of Christianity. In any case, the fact that a majority of people in this country were and are now Christians does not justify declaring this a "Christian nation." If in the future Muslims become a majority would you be willing to accept the idea that this had become a "Muslim nation" simply because Christians were outnumbered?

There are plenty of places to practice religion in America---approximately 350,000 churches and places of worship at last count---without bringing religion into government.
