Why the Real Deal Matters

Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: Why This Matters

Submitted by Lynn Hanley (United States), Jun 17, 2008 at 02:50

Last time I made a comment, some people wanted to know what I was afraid of and why it mattered. I will try to explain this in more detail this time around. First of all, there is another website that I go to that spells it out this way , " What is more important than whether or not Obama is or ever has been a practicing Muslim, is the fact that he will never fully answer this question in a public venue for the whole country to hear."

What speaks to me from this previous commentary is the way that one more time, on one more subject, Obama puts as much distance as he can between himself and a full complete answer. This is EXACTLY what he has done with his own 86 year old WHITE grandmother.

What I want to know is why does he go to such extremes to hide his affluent white background. It was his well-to-do, white banker grandmother that raised and supported him in Honolulu (not Chicago) from the age of ten. It was his white grandmother that sent him to three of the most expensive, exclusive schools in the U.S. - Punahoe, Occidental and Columbia. Today, he is the first person of color to run for president and we don't even get to see a picture of him with the one living person who was the most influential in his development.

If not, why not ??? Haven't we had enough of hidden presidential agendas in this country to last us several lifetimes. What else is he keeping hidden from view now? What else will he hide later on? Thank you very much, but that is quite enough to make me very nervous, because that is ego and deceipt on a collision course to that space where one writes checks with their mouth that their backside can't cash. Not on my dime he doesn't get to do that, because I have had just about enough of slick talking presidents, Democrat or Republican. Don't you agree ?
