So What???

Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: Even if Obama were a Muslim, so what?

Quote: What bothered me is that, by its phrasing, Williams' question presupposed there is something wrong with being a Muslim. And Obama's answer left the presupposition unaddressed.

Williams' question presupposed there is something wrong with hiding that you are a Muslim. This whole argument is not about whether it's right or wrong to be a Muslim. It is about whether he really was a Muslim and just trying to hide it because of how it might affect his popularity. It sounds as if he has nothing to hide. He practiced Islam as a child because that was what his father practiced irregularly. Why not admit to that and admit that he is now a Christian?

What worries everyone is if he is trying so hard to suppress his childhood involvement Islam, how recently has he been involved in Islam and to what level. If his involvement is innocent, why hide it? Could it be part of Islam's plan to infiltrate American society with a portrayal of Islam as a peaceful religion? Could there really be something to Islam's Twenty Year and Twenty Step plan?
