Obamas' actions are what needs looking at, not his religion or race or anything else.

Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam

Submitted by Phil Greend (Canada), Jul 8, 2009 at 14:20

We should only judge President Obama by his actions. Maybe he is a muslim maybe he is not.

What I wish us all to look at are his choices. He gave a speech in which he picked apart bible verses that were unflatering to Christians and said that we don't know our bibles. He did not do this for islam, he could have made mention of the "prophet mohammed" having sex with a 9 year old or the fact he owned black people as slaves.

He bowed before the king of Saudia Arabia, but not to Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II.

He spoke to the muslim world in tones of apology from America. He spoke of a new type of dealings between the islamic world and America based on trust and mutual respect. This is interesting as I did not know that America or the west had anything to be sorry for. Should it not be the islamists who are sorry for attacks on westerners like World Trade Center bombing, Britian train and bus bombing, Spain train bombing, continual attacks on Israel, and all of the other killings over the world. We have always been respectful of others, but islamists call for world domination by islam and the destruction of Israel. Horrible disrespect for any people who are not muslim is standard. So maybe President Obama could have spoke of this instead of him saying sorry.

I have seen no real help or support for Israel, this would be nice as Israel is our only real friend in the entire Middle East. I think that Israel shows us respect ie we can be Christians in Israel no problem. I would have hoped that President Obama would be more vocal in his support of Israel and step up arms sales to Israel. So Israel can continue to defend herself against those who would destroy her...and us.

To cut President Obama some slack, it is still very early in his 4 year run, so maybe there will be some very good things to come.
