The whole premise of Dr. Pipes' article is not that Obama was raised Muslim; it is that Obama, as an adult, lied about it.

"I have always been a Christian" - quoting Obama.

No, he hasn't.

Should Obama truly believe in freedom of religion, and that "it doesn't matter" - as you state - what beliefs were imposed on oneself while very young - why would Obama not admit to the religion he was raised with - ISLAM - unless, of course, he values victory over truth, integrity, character.

There's your answer.
