Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: President Barack HUSSEIN Obama???

Submitted by BaracktheVote (United States), Feb 28, 2008 at 15:24

... What would you say if his name was "McVeigh?" Is it Timothy McVeigh, who performed the worst terrorist attack within America? With further research you will find that the term "Hussein" comes from the Arabic word "Hasan" meaning "good" or "beautiful." As As Dr. Juan Cole points out, "Americans may think of Saddam Hussein when they hear the name, but that is like thinking of 'Stalin' when you hear the name 'Joseph.'"

Barack and his father were given this middle name to honor their grandfather, Hussein Obama, of Nairobi, Kenya . Together, "Barack
Hussein" means "Blessing the Good." Dr. Cole points to the fact that the name of Five Star General Omar Bradley, a famous World War II
general in the American Army, comes from Caliph "Umar" and is a common Semitic name. General John Abizaid, recent CENTCOM commander fighting in Iraq, also shares an Arabic name. Rep. Darryl Issa (R-CA) is from
Lebanon and has a name of semitic origin.

YOU CAN NOT BASE SOMEONE'S CHARACTER BY THE ACTIONS OF OTHERS WHO MIGHT COINCIDENTALLY SHARE THE SAME NAME
