Is Berjees Trying to Confuse Us or Worse?

Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: Was Obama a Muslim

Berjees,

Are you a Muslim shill trying to confuse non-Muslims, or do you just not know anything about Islam?

Who else but you say "Muslims don't believe or emphasize that you must go to mosque or pray five times a day to be a Muslim"? You are wrong. One of the five pillars of Islam - the second one, in fact - requires Muslims to pray five times a day. I am not a Muslim, but even I can read that on websites.

Moreover, you compounded your misinformation by telling us "If you confess with your mouth and live like a Muslim then you are a Muslim". That is wrong. Following the five pillars of Islam is what it takes to be a (true) Muslim. The first pillar is, to partially borrow your phrase, "confessing with your mouth a ‘belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad'". You cannot choose which of the five pillars to follow. Even you said, "[Islam is] more for the works and the deeds and not what your real intention is. Praying five times a day and the other five pillars are the "works and deeds" to be a Muslim. Further, if the value of Islam is "not what your real intention is", then you have a sorry belief system.

Now, about the reality on the ground: I can tell you for a fact that Indonesian Muslims are quietly beside themselves with glee that Barrack Obama was partially raised here, and that his father was a Muslim. They will not consider him an apostate (murtadd). I have lived here for several decades and I can tell you Indoneisans are already proud that something of "a local boy" is a candidate for the United States presidency. If he ever were to win the election, Indonesians will be dancing in the streets, figuratively and literally.

Meanwhile, until Berjees clarifies what he meant with his misinformation, or admits his lack of knowledge of Islam, he should be considered a shill in any future posts.
