Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam

Submitted by Egyptian Christian (Egypt), Jan 8, 2008 at 10:32

I believe, there are many important issues to be addressed here:

1/ If he was a Muslim during his childhood, which is true, so he lied to the American people about a very important piece of information, which they have the right to know about it. Why did he lie of being a muslim kid, specially, if he truly rejected Islam and became christian. If he told a bald-faced lie to his country to win office, this means he can not be trusted and he can lie about other things too...

Even ABC or CBS news mentioned yesterday that his father had several wives back in Africa, which is a normal and actual practice for muslims till today in the Islamic countries.

2/ The important question is: Did he really reject Islam and Islamic teaching, or not?

- If he did reject Islam truly and faithfully, this will put his life at risk just like Salman Rushdie, Nawal Saadawy, Karim Amer and others... According to the Quran, all people who rejected Islam should be killed or fought back till they come back to Islam. However, he might be able to understand better the Islamic ideology and its inherent risks.

- The other possibility is that he converted to a more politically acceptable faith, which means he converted to Christianity for practical reasons...to be involved in the American political life... Which might raise more suspects, if he truly rejects Islamic faith, set of beliefs and ideology.

Please note that in Islam, there is an important principle called TAKIA (lie), which allows muslim to lie to expand their religion, to help his muslim brothers or to conquer the world... The Takia has been used by other political groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt to reach the power. Muslim Brotherhood used takia since its establishment in 1928 till today.

In this case, what prevents him from using Takia till he reaches the White House.

I think more scrutiny is needed about his set of values, who financed his campaign, etc... Critical questions should be answered by him such as how he sees Islam, the religion of his father and his step-father? why he lied about his father's faith?

And how he wants to change America?! I hope I will not live to see Islamic Sharia applied in the land of freedom and human rights...!!!
