Born Muslim?

Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: Raised by two white people from Kansas = Muslim?

Submitted by Dan (United States), Aug 30, 2008 at 15:24

Muslim is not a race. It is not his connection to a Muslim in his earlier years of school but his associations in his adult life. I agree, most of what I can remember of my first ten years on this earth amounts to nearly nothing. Let's get off of this infintile search and look at where he came from as a politician. Who were his supporters, who guided him thourhg the maze of politics to rise so rapidly?

Let us look to the near past. Obama has been shedding asociates as quickly as they are uncovered. This is what troubles me about him, his associations while moving through his political life and i don't like what I have seen. It has nothing to do with race. Raised by two white people? So what? I get the point being made and agree with it. Born a Muslim? Impossible, maybe raised a Muslim but then that would have only covered a very minor part of his life and it appears he really was not raised in a family observing Islam. Forget about the ten year old boy and look at the man, there is enough there to raise a lot of questions let alone his apparent lack of any experience of any sort other than being promoted as a political canidate.
