MAD - and war of suicide bombers.

Forty centuries of history of warfare, which was crowned by 50 years of MAD Cold War, did not destroy our civilization even if sometimes by sheer luck.

The reasons being that 1. Both warring parties act rationally in the best of their respective interest and expect the same from their enemy, and 2. Both warring parties rule out self-destruction as the goal of their war. Suicidal tactics were marginally accepted, provided that kamikazes were volunteers and not a part of elaborate policies. 9/11 and Intifada have changed everything. Arab assembly lines of manufacturing kamikazes out of mentally unstable or underage kids indoctrinated from the cradle, shed a totally new light on the dichotomy of civil policies and morals, far beyond that what even Machiavellians could envisage.

Total war declared by Arab world on Israel should be met with, as all total wars in recent history did, the war should be accepted as such and should be won totally. Playing words and moralization cost too much and all moralizers outside of battlefield should be ignored at least. Nations as well as people can go insane: look for Germans and Japanese. Horrors of war helped a lot to right wrongs in those two peoples distorted national psyches. Let's all hope that helpful fist of IDF will deliver Palestinians from their sickness.
