To Paresh (or is it Asia)

Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: To British muslims

I know who i am but it is you who doesn't seem to know who you are..!

I'll think you will find that most people don't actually describe where they come from as a Continenent. This is actually a stereo type which has been brought on to us by the media and the Muslims so they can also bring us into their problems. I was born in the UK but call myself INDIAN.

Have you ever heard a English person call themselves European? I have my own identity which and culture which is different than that of the muslims, so why should I?

I am not chinese, pakistani, banglashdeshi, sir lankan, s.korean, n.korean. japanese etc I am Indian. You have a problem as you have taken a tag or a label that has been forced upon you by politicans (because of our skin colour) to group us all together and accepted it.

"Dear Dinesh Patel, my brother, you said you are 'true Indian' but you don't consider yourself as "Asian'? What do you think, then, you are? American, European, westerner! Ha ha hahahaha.... go and tell it to your white masters, and then you'll be disillusioned! To them you are only the brown owner of his corner shop. You sell tube-tickets and tobacco and magazines. Being Hindu doesn't elevate your position- everyday you're ridiculed and mocked in the UK tv serioals as 'laddoo eaters'!
"

I don't know where you live .... but this is 2006!!!!!
