Jesse's argument is absurd

Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: Christian terrorists

Dear Dr Pipes:

What reader Jesse put forward as an argument is absurd. Jesse said that in the entire history there have been more Christian terrorists than Muslim. Even if I grant Jesse's statistic to be true, a killer five hundred years ago cannot be compared with a killer today. Let us grant that five hundred years ago a non-muslim enterprize sent a suicide bomber into a Mosque and killed a few dozens worshippers. Can that be compared to recent new year eve killing of Coptic christian worshippers in an Egyptian church?

The Islamic world is in turmoil (do I need to cite examples?). The apologists and excuse pullers will keep pulling excuses but the fact of the matter is that the countries from Morocco to Sudan to Pakistan to Yemen to Malaysia have no one else to balme but themselves for their problems. Peace has a dividend and if you choose to fight in the name of religion or God, that dividend is withdrawn.
