Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?

Submitted by Imtiaz (United States), Aug 3, 2005 at 13:49

.......If christianity was so peace-mongering...go back and read "The Sins of Scripture"....Christianity has it's fair share of violent commendments.

As for violence, look at Iraq and Afghanistan. When a civillian dies there, it's regretable collateral damage, and when they die in the west, it's terrorism. This is double standard. What would you have done if somebody evicted you from your forefathers home and you are left with no hope and future? This is the desperation that leads to suicide bombing. The two main criminals associated in this tragic scenario is Israel and Osama (...and all the radicals with their convoluted interpretation....)

As for those who think Islam will become extinct.,dream on! This is the true faith and that's why it doesn't need metamorphosis to cope to the changing demand of people.

We were peaceful all throughout the human history. It is the invasion and torture that forced us to resort to violent means. But that doesn't mean we can't co-exist.

Leave our territories. (same goes for Muslims. If you don't like their lifestyle, just leave). Stop killing and torturing our people (directly and indirectly through the puppet governments). Accept the rightful claim of Palestinians and peace will prevail. We don't care 'bout you mortal infidels.......you are destined for eternal hell anyways.

Have fun and enjoy while it lasts.
