Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?

Submitted by (Canada), Jan 6, 2003 at 19:45

I am a Canadian born, Christian raised person. I was taught by my parents to love your fellow neighbor, to treat him/her as you would like to be treated yourself, and above all NOT to hate. I do not hate Muslim people, and do not appreciate being lumped in with those that do. What I am deeply disappointed in is some Muslims belief that it is their way, or no way. The arrogance of this is astounding. Anyone who believes that the attack on innocent people in the name of their religion is justified, in my opinion is very very sick minded. The excuse of Bin Laden that "its ok to kill anyone who pays taxes to the American government", is completely wrong. I know of so many people that are totally against any wars/attacks on Muslims or any other people in this world. They DO NOT control the American armies. That leaves only one thing to say about Bin Landen, and others who kill innocent people. They are "COLD BLOODED MURDERERS".
