Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: Why do I call my self Muslim

Submitted by InoChi-Rho (United States), Dec 12, 2007 at 17:15

dont fight about it. Now, i dont necessarily dispise the islamic religion or what they believe just because im a practicing roman catholic christian, but i definitely dont go about criticizing your faults. I know it is easy to become flustered when many others tick the islams off, because they are a proud people, by stereotyping them with terrorism.

But in response to your 1.3 billion or so islamic people, lets just say that christians well outdo you in the number category. Also, we dont usually get involved with terrorizing or any radical things when someone draws something about jesus christ or writes inappropriate things about our religion such as many islamic people do.

As an american, you may say that i, my people, and my country go about looking for trouble in foreign lands by starting war, but how can you call america a christian country when they support legalized abortion, have backed up euthenasia, and are in the process of legalizing gay and lesbian marriage? Not only those things, but every mention of God, OUR creator, is being attacked and is threatened to be removed from many public documents, and monuments.

Please dont write in here ... unless you do research on the other religion first, similar to what i have done. See, the problem with the world is that we have people who criticize another way of life because they dont understand and respect it.

God Bless
