Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: To Adem: Neil Armstrong is NOT a Muslim and other items

Although you obviously disagree with the Islamic faith, and rudely announce your hateful opinions, I have to point something out to you. First of all, the Islamic faith DOES NOT want or teach that a man must beat his wife, I have no idea where you received your incorrect information. I, personally, am a proud FEMALE Muslim and I have always been told that respect for the mothers, wives and women of Islam are treated with utter respect and in the Islamic faith are told to do so.

Some people outside of Islam view that the women seem beneath the men because of their veil that they wear. This veil is worn so that women are treated respectfully because of their true self-not based on how they look. Therefore, females in this faith are treated better than most women in the world. Furthermore, the Islamic faith teaches that Heaven is beneath the mother's feet, which completes my comment on female respect in this religion. Tell that to your Catholic rapists and your American girl sluts and your redneck wife-beaters.

And next time you post a blog openly disliking the Islamic faith, or any faith for that matter, at least have some correct information...

As for the Neil Armstrong situation, I do not know because I wasn't there on the moon. But as for Muslims using it as a tool to convert more people is nonsense because despite all of the bad media we Muslims are receiving, Islam has more converts than any other religion. So we don't need to make up anything, we are doing fine on our own.
