Do you really know the history of the world?

Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: Why Christians hate Muslims.....

Submitted by Alejandro (Belgium), Oct 15, 2007 at 20:00

First of all I will introduce myself as a European Christian with a degree in history and Romantic languages...

I would like some proofs to reinforce your 'facts', I can easily rely on your speech, listen...

Here are the reasons why Christians hate Muslims: (Who says we hate you, and why are this the facts?)

At the all time of the history, Muslims always been conquering Christian lands. Christians invaded much more territory than any other religion (3/5 of Africa, Australia,America...),

in matter of fact I'm sorry to have to inform you but Christians invaded more muslim territory than muslims on Christians. Never heared of the crusades directed by the Pope? I don't think that that one Ottoman empire that took the place of the Bisanthian empire is enough to equal the ballance (+ read the reasons of your win, it isn't because you were so strong, it was because we had accute internal problems and a big seisure between the East and the West of our world at that time.)

If you look at modern times we are still invading you... we take everything you have that we like with imperial invasion (our factories in your countries= cheap labour + cheap stuff) we give you back all our crap that you pay us to import like Mac Do, Coca Cola, Marlboro and we make you weaker every day... It isn' praying 5 times a day that goes to save your people from this, you just can do nothing about it.

Muslims are creators of OTTOMAN EMPIRE and MAMELUKE EMPIRE.

Yes, well let's give you some other facts...For example in 1492 Christian Spain discovered the New world starting the Spanish colonial empire for the next 300 years (at his top it included a big part of America, the Filipines,1/3 of Asia and many enclaves on the African caost making it one of the biggest empres of the history... I don't speak of the Holy Empire of Charles the great, the British empire, the Roman empire, the Portugese empire... Christians conquested every single country of the world at one way or an other at least once and continue to do it but we (like Jews) don't always claim our religion when we achieve something, we act in silence.

Islam is the fastest growing way of life in the world. In the next 50 years, Islam will be bigger than Chrisitianity.

Let's explain to you some facts again : in 2007 33 percent of the world was Christian with 2.1 billion believers for only 22 percent of muslims with 1.5 billion believers, you know Europe, America,Australia... are Christian.

We increase with 3.5 percent a year (mostly in South-America and black-Africa) and muslims with 2.3 percent. How do you want to reach us in 50 years if you're fewer and you encrease less? You'll have to read facts, reflect and respond to this.

Most of the scientists and most popular individuals are Muslim (for example, Neil Armstrong, Muhammad Ali, Will Smith, et al.) and they create a "losership" in Christ.

You put Will Smith as most popular individuals in the world?...you forgot a whole lot of people, no? If you would think a bit futher you did; about mostly Christian and Jewish people like A) scientists: Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, Gallileo Gallilei, Charles Robert Darwin, Thomas Edison, Alessandro Volta, Stephen Hawkins, Louis Pasteur, Marie Curry... and B)most popular people are for example: JF Kennedy, Marylin Monroe, Madonna (Keballah), Brad Pitt, Bill Gates, Nelson Mandela (he is also Christian)...

Well I hope that I've shown you that you have to inform yourself before talking because otherwise you tell all kind of stuff based on nothing and when someone who studied all this stuff reads this he laughes and counters all your speech with real facts that you actually can look up in recognised books. You were clearly telling what you wanted to be "the truth" and you seem full of frustration and hate to me, I hope I'm wrong.

If I can pass a message to the people is that you read the Koran and the Bible and compare the two. I did and I stayed with the Bible with no doubt at all ;-)
