Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: There are no moderate Muslims

I am Welsh and a god fearing good Christian, living in Wales where the religion is predominantly catholic and Christian, Wales is a place where we all live together in a good environment and we always try to respect all religions.

Within our communities are small pockets of people who are Muslims, and it seems to me they have separated themselves from us and other parts of the community. I was working in one particular area of Wales that is dominated by Muslims, and the locals looked at me with total hatred, looked at me as if I was dirt on the bottom of their boots.

Whilst working in this area I tried to acknowledge a few of these locals and they just ignored me as if I was invisible, and the terrible reality of the situation I was in, is I grew up in this area where Muslims now rule.

Yes this area is part of my history, my birthplace, and I felt threatened, moving around this heavily occupied Muslim community, where not a word of English was being spoken. I am sure a lot of people will agree Muslims segregate themselves from being part of the larger community that is outside of Islam.
