Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: RESPONSE TO comment "Muslims in Sweden"

Submitted by PK (United States), Jul 16, 2006 at 16:14

I believe the question here is not all about religion is it? I was born an american (and at this point cannot say i am very proud of it) and am thinking of moving to sweden in the near future - I am not a prejudiced person, was brought up catholic and am now buddhist, but i believe that if a person is going to migrate to a different country other than the one they were born in, then that person should follow the laws of the country they will be living in! it's a pretty simple concept don't you think? my last trip to sweden (last week) i heard of a muslim girl who had a swedish boyfriend and her family tortured him pouring hot oil down his throat etc... and now the girl (who by the way was just trying to live life like a swedish girl) is under government protection from her family! I think that if you cannot abide by swedish law then get out!
