There is no love towards people in the quran

Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims?
in response to reader comment: The word "Love" is not mentioned in the Quran!

ONCE AGAIN a muslim in ABSOLUTE bad faith is quoting verse 32 of sura 5 PARTIALLY by omitting the first part of the first sentence. This verse is for Jews NOT muslims:

"Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely..................."

The following verse (33 of sura 5) is meant for MUSLIMS and see how loving it is!

"Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment,"

Please note that corruption could be: theft, dancing, singing, adultery, not praying correctly.....anything you wish in fact.

I haven't checked the other quotations but given that the one I checked has been truncated to suit the purpose of the writer you can have serious doubts on the rest of them. For my part I have made a word search for love and I have never found it used in a positive way.
